Chrysalis Arts & Heritage Commision

Commisioned by UCLH
Working with ScreenDeep and On The Record

Chrysalis celebrates the sounds of people and places at two London hospitals on Grays Inn Road: the Royal National Throat Nose and Ear hospital and Eastman Dental Hospital. It was commissioned because these institutions will move from their current buildings to a new facility in 2019 and for the first time will exist under the same roof.

The project began with a period of research to collect oral history interviews and field recordings of the two sites and will be followed by workshops with patients, staff and members of the public. This will inform an immersive audio artwork to be installed at the future hospital, celebrating new conversations and connections.
