Nierka is a multidisciplinary performance piece that combines music (electronic, orchestral, post-rock and opera), contemporary dance, puppetry, video, lighting and new technologies.
The show is influenced by Wassily Kandinsky’s The Yellow Sound, as well as Artaud and Craig’s philosophies of new trends for theatre. Using music instead of words helps to tell the story in a more intimate way, by allowing the audience to identify with and interpret the music and its relationship to the action on stage.
I composed original music and arrangements for string orchestra, children's choir and soprano to accompany the main soundtrack by Mexican post-rock band Austin TV.
